The Carbon Emissions Learning Lab (CELL) is a powerful tool that empowers hospital leaders to make informed decisions and assess the impact of their choices on the environment.

The simulation has been developed in collaboration with the Geneva Sustainability Centre.

How to play

The Carbon Emissions Learning Lab: Net Zero Hospital (CELL) is designed for healthcare executives and professionals. Learners experience the challenges and opportunities related to reducing greenhouse gas emissions in line with objectives of the Paris Agreement on climate change while at the same time managing hospital performance. Learners play the role of a hospital leader who needs to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the hospital over a 5–10-year period.

With CELL, participants learn to:
Understand the environmental impact of hospital operations in relation to greenhouse gas emissions.
Analyse current sources of hospital emissions and identify opportunities for emissions reduction.
